Happy New Year!

2012 is upon us!  2011 is past & hopefully we can move beyond the many trials & tribulations we had.
May 2012 bring many blessings & our efforts prove prosperous!
If I could change things that happened in 2011, I probably would.  It's been a very difficult year.   Business has been off since 2010 and we never recovered in 2011 so I'd definitely change that.  I'm like most people, I want everything to smell sweet with roses all around.  But God knows what we have need of and He will work it all to our good.  With that in mind, I'm looking forward to what the new year holds.  I can't see the future but I can try to trust God for what He has planned. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.
Lord please forgive me when my faith is small.  I know your mercy endureth forever, have mercy on me Lord and remember I am but dust.

Merry Christmas!

Tis the season for Christians to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Today many people celebrate Christmas but they're not Christians.  They think that Christmas is all about gifts!  They will spend more money than they have to shower gifts on their family and friends.  Many times these gifts are unappreciated.  They're not what was needed or they're the wrong size, wrong color, wrong style.  Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

There is no consideration of the reason for the season.  Jesus is the reason.

If you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, then my desire is that you do that today.  He is the only gift that you NEED!  God wants you to choose His Son.  He said you take my son and I'll take you!  God sent Jesus to pay your sin debt and all you have to do is accept His gift.
If you do nothing, you have made your choice.  If you want to spend eternity in heaven you must accept that Jesus was born of a virgin, he died, was buried and on the third day he rose again and is sitting on the right hand of God.  God does not want you to go to hell, that's why he sent Jesus to pay your debt.
If you could work or be good enough to get to heaven God would not have sent Jesus.  If you rely on your own good works, you will go straight to hell. In John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me."   Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

God is the only one that gives good and perfect gifts.  God is the only one that knows exactly what you need.  Please accept God's gift to you!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!

Well not really!  I guess it's beginning to look a lot like a Texas Christmas.  It's in the 50's but it's supposed to be freezing in the next couple of days.  We're going to go out to eat for Christmas.  We have another couple that will be joining us for Chinese!  That doesn't much sound like Christmas either but Buddhists don't celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!!  Plus we really like Summer Palace so it'll be great. I can taste the coconut chicken already, yummy.  I've got to work tomorrow and half a day on Friday then we'll be closed for a week.  Ahhh, R & R, can't wait.

Thanksgiving is Just 3 Days Away, eek!

Thanksgiving is just 3 days away & I'm sort of dreading it.  I've made the choice to change the way I eat for better health & to lose weight.  I'm afraid it's going to be very difficult to resist some of the food goodies that go hand in hand at the holiday.  We usually go to my sisters but she just had knee replacement surgery so we're not going this year.  That may be my saving grace!  It would be especially difficult to make good choices when there are really few good choices to pick.  We're going to go out to eat.  That won't be ideal but I can choose a large salad & lots of vegies.  Even though they'll have fat they wouldn't have at home I also won't have a bunch of unhealthy left overs to deal with.
Sometimes making the right choice & sticking with it is very difficult but I've got to keep my on the prize - better health, feeling better & looking better. So let's go!

One Choice

We are always one choice away from changing our lives.  It can be a good choice or a bad choice but either way we will reap the consequences.  Sometimes we make a choice without considering the outcome.  Sometimes we just don't fully realize where the choice will lead us.  But make no mistake your life will be changed by that one choice.

It's a New Day!

I am enjoying the course on internet writing.  I've always wanted to be a writer & wanted to start taking steps in that direction.  The hubby & I have talked about going on the road together which sounds very interesting to me.  We sure can't make it on his social security but we could possibly augment that hauling freight.  If I could generate some income as well, while doing what I enjoy, well that would be wonderful!  Plus I'd get to see some of the country from coast to coast.
I just pray the Lord will lead us in the right direction & give us wisdom for all the decisions that need to be made.  It's exciting and scary all at the same time.  I just have to remember to "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths."  That's a promise!  God can't lie & does not break his promises.
